Founder / Executive Director

Andrew King

Andrew King and Javan Devore met in 2020 through Javan’s father, who has been a friend of Andrew’s for many years. Mr. King owns the property that Real Fathers will operate within and wanted to do something that would help those in need in San Francisco. When Andrew and Javan met and discussed, it was an obvious good fit. Since, Andrew has been working to complete construction on the property to have it ready for Real Fathers.

Mr. King is a native of San Francisco, having attended high school in the city. He then attended the University of Illinois on a football scholarship. Andrew loves San Francisco, and he returned to the city to begin working as an Assistant Director for the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department. He then completed a five-year program that allowed him to become a Journeyman plumber with the City of San Francisco. As a way to give back to the community, he became a volunteer counselor for inner city youth at Log Cabin in La Honda, California. Andrew is currently a Board member for True Hope COGIC.

Andrew will be responsible for managing all donations to the facility. It is common for individuals and companies to donate food, appliances, furniture, and a variety of other items. Mr. King will manage all of these donations, including working with clients to get their assistance, which will be required as part of their contract to stay at the facility. Andrew will also be responsible for performing all maintenance at the facility or acquiring professionals if needed.

Founder / Director of Operations / Business Development

Javan Devore

Javan Devore has a substantial real estate background and over 30 years of experience in sales and business development. He worked for a mortgage loan provider where he was responsible for negotiating contracts for the company to be the preferred lender for homebuilders. Through this experience, he was able to take what he learned and develop a sales process that ultimately had tremendous success. With this process, he left and started his own company, Contingent Buyer Solution. CBS worked to bridge the gap between contingent buyers, builders, and mortgage lenders to help more transactions close and improve profit margins.

Later, he joined Metropolitan Fresh Start House, a men’s transitional housing program in San Francisco that is owned and operated by his family. He joined to help with real estate, but later became more involved in daily operations, conducting meetings, holding counseling sessions, and seeking donations. While helpful, he was not able to focus on assisting Fresh Start with its growth strategies. After discussions with his family, Javan left Fresh Start and has his family’s full support in this new venture.

At Real Fathers, Mr. Devore will hire and support all staff and maintain the company’s relationship with Veterans Affairs. Javan will also develop and manage all marketing and sales for the business. Once the business is operating at an ideal level, he will turn his focus to growth and the opening of additional Real Fathers locations.
